Field Trips & Tours
Henrietta Creek Orchard & Apiary has welcomed many Schools, Students, Interns, Volunteers, Universities, Researchers, Chefs, Doctors, Professors, Ag-Extensions, 4-H Clubs, Master Gardeners, Jr. Gardeners, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Special Needs Children, Retirement Communities, Bee Associations and multiple other groups & organizations to our small orchard in Roanoke, TX.
A few examples of what is taught and researched at our orchard include: bees, pollination/ pollinators, honey extraction, planting, gardening, composting, earthworms, colored cotton, butterflies, insects, and herbs to name a few. Saving bees & butterflies and many other pollinators (that are worth 1 out of 3 bites of food we eat) and educating about them are at the top of our list!
Another focus of the orchard is the positive impact that farming on small acreage can have for our habitat, society, education as well as future generations- whether it be awareness or hands on programs.
We start booking spring field trips & tours in late April and fall field trips & tours in late July. Cost is $9.00 per person. Teachers and 1 chaperone per class are free. Field trips last 1.5 hours. The first field trip starts at 9:30 and the second at 11:30.
